A New Ballet Reality Television Series in the Making
Dreamfly Productions Steps into the Intimate World of The Dancer Behind the Curtain
DALLAS, Texas (July 15, 2011) – A renewed interest in the performing arts movement is sweeping the nation and Dallas-based Dreamfly Productions has captured it all! The reality television series, En Pointe, exposes a never-before-seen true story of mesmerizing performing artists and dancers that will entertain all audiences.
The popular success of Black Swan generated a tremendous amount of interest in what goes on “behind the curtain.” En Pointe tells the real story.
En Pointe reveals the intimate and compelling world of professional dancers from grueling practices to demanding perfection. The talent, content and climactic episodes depict the intense levels of physical and mental challenges of real performers from across the world.
“The passion of these cast members is utterly awe-inspiring. Not to mention their beauty! The show is so much more than dancing; the drama and art brings a new meaning to the word ‘sexy,” it’s simply addictive.” said Lisa Jenkins, director for Dreamfly Productions.
The series premiere of En Pointe showcases the Miami City Ballet Company as it prepares for the most prestigious ballet festival in Paris, France.
The Les Etés de Danse Festival - Summers of Dance - began July 6 and will continue through July 23 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, France. The Miami City Ballet Company, directed by world-renowned ballet dancer and choreographer, Edward Villella, will present 17 performances including works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Paul Taylor, Twyla Tharp and Christopher Wheeldon.
“The Miami City Ballet Company is receiving unprecedented standing ovations and press in Paris and En Pointe captures it all,” said Edward Villella, artistic director and founder of Miami City Ballet Company.
Dreamfly Productions continues filming the En Pointe series in Miami, Fla., Austin, Texas, Atlanta, Ga., and several other cities across the world. Dreamfly Productions is currently seeking a television network to air the series this fall.
Dreamfly Productions encourages supporters to spread awareness of the performing arts movement and sustain the value of performing arts programs. The opportunity for businesses and organizations, aligned with ballet, dance, and performing arts, to sponsor En Pointe through marketing ventures, promotional enterprises and advertising opportunities is currently available.
